Kisses is a band from Los Angeles inspired by their friendship to cult disco producer and former Cerrone collaborator. “Bermuda” is the first single from their upcoming album ‘the heart of the nightlife’, introducing their instrumental disco-inspired bedroom pop sound. Definitely one of the newcomers to watch this year and surely with some track to save for our summer playlist.

L’occasion était trop belle de ne pas louper Fear of Tigers de passage à Paris samedi à La Java. Fan de la première heure depuis la sortie de Cossus Snufsigalonica, leur premier album au nom à coucher dehors l’année dernière (et de leur remix de “Adventures of Pippi Longstrump” par Human Contact), il s’avère que je converse de temps en temps avec Benjamin (l’un des 2 FoT) sur Facebook ou sur Twitter et qu’il a eu la gentillesse de nous mettre sur la Guest List pour venir l’écouter mixer. On a passé un excellent moment, la sélection musicale était démente: Rocket de Goldfrapp par Grum, Starry Eyed d’Elie Goulding par Russ Chimes, Sun always shine on tv de A-ha, Pick up the phone de Dragonette notamment… Bref, tout ce qu’on aime depuis ces derniers mois! A la fin de son set, nous avons bu un verre ensemble, il est vraiment adorable. Une bien jolie rencontre et un excellent moment passé avec PYM, Nicolette, Alex, Benoit, Quentin, Freddy, JF, Demonz, Will…

BBC Sound of 2010: the winners
Ellie Goulding a été élue artiste ‘BBC 2010’ et cette même BBCa édité une “Long List” des 15 artistes à suivre en 2010. A la lecture de cette liste et à l’écoute de ces artistes (qui vous ont d’ailleurs été presque tous été présentés sur ce blog ces derniers mois), on ne peut qu’applaudir et pleurer sur la pauvreté de la scène française. Les anciens gagnants étaient par exemple: Little Boots, Mika, Adèle…
Fifteen of the best rising music stars have been named on the longlist for the BBC’s Sound of 2010. The list is designed to highlight the most exciting musical talent for the coming year and the artists have been picked by 165 UK-based tastemakers. They each named their favourite three new acts and those with the most votes were put on the list. The top five and winner has been recently unveiled.Little Boots, Adele and Mika are among the previous BBC Sound of… winners.
